Dead Island: Blood Bath Arena DLC Coming Soon

One of the great attractions of Call of Duty is the horde-style multiplayer option where you and buddies try to hold your ground against hordes, swarms, and wave upon wave of zombie enemies. Dead Island, being a zombie game, is the natural candidate for such a multiplayer option. That is exactly what Dead Island fans will come against.

The horde multiplayer option will be included in the DLC called Blood Bath Arena. This DLC will let you attempt to fight off wave after wave of zombies for new areas of the game. You will also get a brand new weapon called brain wave bomb. We hope that Deep Silver will release more details regarding this interesting choice for a weapon name.

But there is another piece of good news. Whatever experience you gain using the horde mode will carry over to the single player campaign of the game. So if you are looking to grind some experience, the horde area might be a good place for it. There is still no price regarding this DLC although the owners of the special edition of Dead Island will get it for free.

the DLC was expected to be released for Xbox, Pc, and PS3 on September 26th

however the DLC was pushed back to Mid-November

Price is expected to be: 800msp or 10$ for other consoles

Dead Island DLC To Add Co-Op Survival Mode

If the launch of the upcoming Dead Island DLC is as controversial as this weeks release madness then well have to break out the extra-strong tea to cope. The Bloodbath Arena pack will add four new survival maps that will let players fight unlimited waves of zombies in order to survive for as long as possible. With no limit to the enemies, youll never actually survive the survival maps, but inevitable death maps sounds a lot less inviting. Slay zombies! Earn points! Stave off your inevitable demise! The DLC will be released later this month. No price has been announced, but special edition purchasers will get it for free.

and a clarification on "Ripper" its not a new add on its a weapon mod.

Dead Island's expansion packs, both announced and not, may be hitting later than planned as developers refocus their energy on fixing the game, Deep Silver tells Kotaku. "Right now the Dead Island development team's priority is working on fixes and updates across all platforms so that we can take care of all of the fans who have been so supportive of our game," a spokesperson said "There is some awesome DLC content planned for Dead Island, but first we have to put all our focus on the base game experience." Techland released a new version of the computer game and a patch last week to deal with some pretty serious issues. Earlier this week the developer released a patch for the Xbox 360 version of the game. The team is currently working on a PS3 patch. All three patches are meant to fix multiplayer connectivity issues, autosave issues, and a bunch of other minor problems. The team doesn't have a firm release date for the PS3 patch, but are working to get it done as soon as possible, we were told. While Dead Island has some major, teeth-gnashing bugs, some of the oddities people run into seem to be more along the lines of the craziness occasionally spotted in Kotaku fave Red Dead Redemption. Personally, I love the game. I'll be writing up my review this week.
